Job Description:
As an Audio Engineer for Somethin’ Else, you will work in Post Production within Sony’s Global Podcast Division recording, mixing and mastering premium, award-winning podcast and radio content. Your role will span narrative, factual, entertainment and music genres with creative teams based in London, New York and Los Angeles. Somethin’ Else is a premium podcast business. Established in 1991, we are pioneers in creating quality audio content. We make a wide range of original podcasts with passionately creative hosts, journalists and producers. We are an end-to-end podcast business – from development through production, distribution, marketing and subscription, sponsorship and advertising sales services. We also work with a range of partners and clients that include some of the world’s leading platforms, publishers, broadcasters and blue-chip brands.
What you’ll do:
- Engineer studio and remote records including multi-contributor and as live set-ups
- Engineer location records and press junkets
- Mix and master long-and short-form content and features, promos and commercial content
- System, storage and workflow management
- Opportunity for sound design and scoring
Who you are:
- You have a minimum of two years’ experience audio engineering in a broadcast/production environment and have a comprehensive knowledge of audio delivery standards
- You have worked extensively with Pro Tools, Reaper and Fabfilter, iZotope and Nugen plugins
- You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable working with high-profile talent
- You are great at staying calm under pressure and troubleshooting technical issues on the spot
