Department/Role Overview

Digital Practice Solutions team works with the business to assist in defining and delivering the firms strategy and processes, while also providing a stable platform for day to day tasks of its core platinum systems 3E & Intapp. The successful applicant will execute and improve 3E applications and modules within Elite 3E system while maintaining key support to the existing software and platform. The post-holder will take a key role in providing a best-in-class software development and support service. This role would allow an experienced individual with commercial software development experience as a Finance Systems developer, technical lead or a similar web based system to Elite 3E to cross skill in to this role and become an expert in all Financial Systems applications such as Elite 3E, Intapp Time, Chrome River Expense and other Firm Practice applications.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead and go to person for the Elite 3E system.
• Provide technical support to in-house developed applications, integrations and the Elite 3E product.
• Lead software development workstreams providing end to end ownership including; specification and design, estimation and planning, build, release and support.
• Work with the Elite consultants in developing and deploying new solutions, modules, and features and liaising with members of the development team, business analysts and technical architects.
• Creation of technical and functional documents for ongoing maintenance items and projects.
• Liaise with business users as required within the role, maintaining a high level of service within all aspects of the individuals work.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team or individually to achieve business outcomes, maintaining constructive working relationships with IT peers.
• Unit testing software to ensure code is correct, fixing errors where they occur, rerunning and rechecking the programme until it produces the correct results.
• Perform Systems Integration Testing and manage/coordinate user acceptance testing.
• Provide dependable and consistent on-call support as needed for backup and where special expertise is required.
• Provide 3rd level support and resolve escalated incidents for the Elite and Time Tracking systems.
• Main point of contact for upgrades to 3E, Time Tracking systems, and other related software systems.
• Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential Skills And Experience

• Knowledge of web based software architecture and design.
• Microsoft SQL scripting and Server.
• Experience using Microsoft tools and programming languages such as .NET framework (Primarily VB.NET) and XML related technologies including XSLT and XPath.
• Creating and updating technical documentation.
• Ability to produce accurate time estimates for work to be undertaken and drive to ensure commitments are achieved.
• Tactful and diplomatic when in pressured situations.
• Uses initiative - ‘can do’ approach.
• Quality orientation evidenced by attention to detail and high work standard.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of customers.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Previous experience in finance or legal sectors.
• Previous experience working with financial systems such as Elite 3E or similar.
• Experience of working with customisable 3rd party solutions.
• Experience in producing and maintaining reports from Elite 3E, Microsoft SSRS or similar systems.
• Experience in multi-tier architected methodologies. Ability to apply design patterns to create structured and efficient code.
• Experience working in a development group that develops business critical applications.
• Elite 3E IDE and database structures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and above.
• Strong background in database design, analysis and development. Awareness of current and future Microsoft technologies.
