JOB SUMMARY:

The Haunted Field of Screams is looking for a skilled, self-motivated set designer and builder to join the production team. The set designer and builder will collaborate closely with the production team and managers to create haunt scenes and sets within storage containers and non-permanent buildings to set a terrifying yet safe experience for customers. This individual must be able to work with a variety of materials, design and build out the scenes themselves.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with production team to design the layout and look of the set and reflect the narrative of the scene.
• Collaborate with operations team to understand how actors will work within the space.
• Build scenes within storage containers and non-permanent buildings.
• Work within the budget and time constraints of the production.
• Follow safety requirements in the design and build process.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

• Previous experience in set design for theater, film or television.
• Possess own set of tools.
• Decorating experience – painting, distressing, etc.
• Work with props or build props to work with themed set.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to construct themed sets – basic building skills - carpenter/welding capabilities – bonus but not required.
• Interest and experience in the haunt industry a bonus but not required.
• Eye for detail and the ability to generate many ideas that work within a space.

PAY RANGE:

$20 - $25/hour

The Haunted Field of Screams(HFOS), is Colorado’s largest haunted attraction located in Thornton, CO. Built into a 40-acre corn field, HFOS delivers a daunting indoor/outdoor haunt experience. Backing the famously haunted Riverdale Road, the attraction offers the longest immersive haunt experience that includes a walk through acres of corn field, encounters with multiple haunted houses and a ride down to the Riverdale Gates of Hell.
