Contract: Part Time

Responsibilities:

• In communication with the Pastor, choose music that complements the worship theme and creates a contemplative and cooperative atmosphere for the congregation. Note that the theme for this service is not “Christian contemporary” in the vein of Bethel and Hillsong. We are seeking to create an atmosphere more akin to the work of The Porter’s Gate.
• Showcase proficiency in guitar and voice, leading both instrumentally and vocally during worship, encouraging the congregation to participate.
• Read and interpret music and chord charts, lead sheets, and other musical notations to ensure accurate and seamless leadership.
• Allocate several hours per week for service, practice, and planning time to ensure well-prepared and impactful worship experiences.
• Collaborate closely with other staff members, fostering a team spirit and seeking assistance when needed.
• Provide lyrics and other relevant material to the administrative team for inclusion in bulletins and other worship resources.
• Possess the ability to work with sound equipment if required during worship services.
• Secure a worship leader substitute when unable to fulfill duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience planning and leading worship services with guitar and singing.
• Proficiency in reading music and chord charts/lead sheet symbols.
• Strong instrumental and vocal skills with expertise in guitar and singing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire the congregation.
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating meaningful worship experiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with sound equipment is preferred but not mandatory.

Salary and Compensation:

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and market rates. $250/wk
