Denver Headshot Co: Freelance Event Photographer
Photographer is needed in Denver, United States.
This job has been crawled from the web.
Client: Denver Headshot Co.
Location: Denver, CO
Contract: Part-time
Description:
Are you an event photographer that loves shooting, but hates the marketing/sales/e-mails/customer service and all that entails getting you to that photoshoot? If so, let’s connect.
Come be a contractor at Denver Headshot Company, a small industry-leading, tight-knit portrait company in the Denver metro area.
We are looking to hire an awesome contract event photographer to help with our events. No editing, booking or marketing required. We’ll fill you in with details and you will go to the shoot and do your thing.
Experienced:
You’ll need to demonstrate a strong and seasoned porfolio in event photos. Speakers on the stage, group photos and details.
You need a expert amount of off-camera flash and studio experience with the confidence that you’ll be able to learn more quickly and easily.
Personality:
We are looking for the right type of fit here. We promise it’s not you … it’s us.
We’re a quirky, empathetic, and authentic group. We want someone to join us that has the confidence to photograph the President and the humility to take the trash out after the session is over.
Who are you? On a scale of 1-10 for how friendly and warm you are, you’re a 12. You’re an excellent photographer …but would never say that. You don’t like the business, sales, and editing side of being a photographer and could shoot all day.
This job is an excellent fit for a wedding or family photographer who would like some consistent work during the week with the freedom to still do your photography business. You love to grow and learn and work well in a team environment.
The photographer must currently live in the Denver area to apply for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Take professional pictures on location, using external flash
- Ability to do event photography outside of normal business hours
- Work closely with clients and colleagues to produce high-quality photographic images
- Be open to learning and growing and helping others to do the same. We have monthly team meetings where we nerd out and learn from each other.
- Ability to operate any kind of camera or light out there.
Requirement:
- Business Liability Insurance
- Digital SLR & portrait lens, 70-200 lens, 35mm lens, a wide angle lens, external flash
Qualifications:
- Significant photography experience as a lead photographer, a minimum of 5 years. (no newbies!)
- Extensive experience in directing people in a portrait setting, small and large groups
- Expert-level knowledge in both artificial and natural lighting.
- Customer focus with a desire to over-deliver on quality
- Able to follow instructions clearly to achieve desired results
- Flexible to travel to locations as required of the job using your own vehicle.
- Ability to think on the spot and problem solve
- Must have a growth mindset and the humility to take and welcome critique
- Strong communication, people, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with people who look like realtors and doctors (as opposed to brides and models)
Pay:
Pay is $40-$55 an hour depending on experience. Our event business is growing.
