About the role:

At Next we have a great opportunity for a Senior Retoucher to join our Premier Park studio in London working with Home imagery for both Next and external partner brands. This role is a temporary 6 month contract within a vibrant team. You will be an expert in your field of retouching and produce amazing high quality imagery for the Next family of websites. This is an extremely fast-paced role that covers all our in-house retouching teams and studios to maintain Next’s vision and creative beliefs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is creative & proactive, either looking to step up into a Senior Retoucher role or has experience within a similar position.

You will:

  • Deliver content to the highest quality for the Next customer aligned to our brand principles & creative direction.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the workflow for retouching, look for efficiencies and new possibilities to improve the process and streamline production
  • Provide strong guidance to all levels of the Studio from a retouch perspective in line with your Team Lead.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your Team lead and senior management within Next Studios.
  • Monitor standards to ensure consistency and continually improve quality
  • Oversee the quality of all imagery within the team ensuring the quality and output is consistent and to the highest level required
  • Be responsible for skills training and development of other retouchers in collaboration with Team Lead
  • Provide strong, clear and aspirational guidance and support to the studio team from a retouch standpoint.
  • Work collaboratively with other Senior Retouchers within the Studio and promote a learning culture and positive team dynamic
  • Maintain constant awareness of new techniques/processes to enhance the retouch workflow
  • Work closely with the shoot teams to ensure the best possible image is captured in the most efficient way and suggest alternatives
  • Consistently strive to think outside the box with all processes and projects showing initiative and innovation.
  • Communicate effectively with your Team Lead to establish clear, recognizable and achievable goals.
  • Be flexible to work at other Next studios, external studios and on location when required

About you:

  • Expert knowledge of retouching techniques is essential in both Ecomm and marketing imagery
  • Extremely high competence of using the latest Photoshop software and all image retouching practices with excellent ability in rebuilding patterns, working with textiles and a working knowledge of processing raw files.
  • This role centres around homeware editorial-style retouching - relevant experience is a bonus.
  • Able to interpret a retouching brief with a commercial understanding and brand awareness and have the confidence to train others on retouching techniques.
  • High competence in accurate colour correction using physical and digital swatches
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Good experience of using MAC Operating systems.
  • Experience working within a large creative studio environment.
  • Creative flair and passion for visual composition
  • Comfortable with a highly pressured and rapidly changing environment.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Full UK driving licence
