Summary

  • This position is primarily technical but also would benefit (optionally) from design or UI/UX skills.

  • The salary range provided is large because we are open to hearing from applicants with varying amounts of prior experience. The offer made will be dependent on experience and skill sets.
  • This position will be mostly internal facing but at times could be client facing if comfortable.
  • Tech stacks vary, including WordPress, Third Party CMS, our own CMS and custom development.
  • Scope of tasks can vary between quick help to others/clients and complete projects that you own.
  • Starting arrangement is flexible depending on your situation. Please specify if you are looking for FT or prefer part time/contract with flexible schedule and option to convert later.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Under general supervision, build, test, debug, document, implement and maintain client and internal websites.
  • Act as a core part of the site build team and assist with the creative process for a site’s design, wireframe, navigational layout and user experience while aiming to meet the client’s general goals and expectations.
  • Analyze feedback and successfully iterating to improve deliverables.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, modifying, and enhancing existing websites.
  • Contribute to discussions on a range of topics including: functionality, technical specs, design trends, UI/UX and apply those decisions to your daily work.
  • Test as you build to provide solutions that are compliant with industry standards as well as perform cross-platform/device testing and quality assurance testing on your own and other team members’ work.
  • Successfully optimize websites for speed, performance, accessibility and basic SEO.
  • Maintain a regular schedule and execute maintenance for managed sites, including updates, audits and QA.
  • Keep up-to-date on web design best practices, trends and tools.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with web development and/or design.
  • Proficiency in front-end development with HTML, CSS and JS.
  • The ability to create deliverables that are aesthetic, functional, and user-friendly.
  • Experience with WordPress.
  • Experience working with various Content Management Systems while also being able to code pages from scratch when necessary.
  • Experience with one or more forms of site optimization.
  • Experience setting up/integrating Google Analytics.
  • Experience with project/task management software.
  • Good at problem solving and willing to do research to solve a particular issue.
  • A portfolio or example work.

Required Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, you’re not afraid to ask questions and provide ideas or important updates.
  • Ability to take in a request, ask relevant questions and boil down the needs into appropriate tasks/solutions.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and internal team members in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Deadline oriented and organized.
  • Creative and open to new ideas.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines for projects that vary in scope.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Adobe software products or other tools for designs, mockups, etc.
  • Experience with domains, DNS, email administration, etc.
  • Experience with Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code, Git or other source control.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
