This is an exciting opportunity to work in the hot industry of social media and live-streaming. The right candidate will be working for the #1 online livestreamer in Europe on 抖音 within the beauty and healthcare space. You’ll be providing creative support services for their unique videos and supporting the live stream productions from our facility in the UK.

You’ll have opportunities to travel around the UK and Europe, supporting our presenter bring UK and European brands to customers in China, as well as honing your creative capabilities in the ever-expanding livestream e-commerce industry. You’ll get to meet and interact with top brands and their representatives across the UK and EU within the beauty and healthcare industry, helping to promote their brand and products to the domestic Chinese market.

Essential Requirements

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese
• Highly familiar with using TikTok for content creation
• Highly familiar with using Douyin Live Companion for livestream broadcast
• Previous video editing experience for mobile formats and social media

We are hiring for either one suitable candidate who is able to fulfill both roles as full time or two (2) part time candidates for each role separately.

Video Editor

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Editing and producing 15-60 second videos for our presenter. Enabling a production of 5-7 short-form videos per week.
• Be available in-person to take media ad-hoc when the situation arises, for example, when on location with brands, or daily life with the family and friends.
• Being able to work quickly and independently without supervision is essential to this role.
• Being receptive to feedback and flexible with requests for content alteration, acting quickly and independently.

Experience Required

• In-depth knowledge of the 抖音 video editing software 剪映 is a must for this role.
• A high understanding of Chinese humour and current 抖音 trends and stylistic conventions.

Desirable Qualities

• A high attention to detail when editing and proofing final content is highly desirable.
• A background in media production at higher education level.

Non-Essential but Preferred

• UK/Intl. driving licence

Videographer

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Support livestream broadcasts over the weekends, either on location around the UK/EU or at our facility in Hull.
• Setup lighting rigs and ensure the presenter(s) and background are evenly lit, suitable for cosmetics demonstrations.
• Setup camera equipment and operate 抖音直播伴侣 to adjust camera broadcast, ensure the presenter is supported to view comments and respond appropriately.
• Mic the presenter(s) and manage the audio quality throughout the livestreams.

Experience Required

• Previous experience setting up and operating a livestream in a commercial environment is highly preferable.
• Understanding of camera operations, a technical ability to adjust the camera and lighting quickly and easily.

Desirable Qualities

• A high level of understanding and experience using 抖音直播伴侣.
• A background in media production at higher education level.

Non-Essential but Preferred

• UK/Intl. driving licence
• CEFR A2 or above
