Job Summary:

This is a 12 month fixed term contract and will require you to be in the office 4 days per week. We are looking for a Senior PR Manager to join our team who loves streaming great TV and brings a deep understanding of local original content across EMEA markets. You will join as a member of the communications team in a role that will lead on the EMEA local originals strategy for Disney, with direct responsibility for some UK campaigns and also oversee our Media Networks business. Working closely with the Director of the team, your role is responsible for local original campaigning from early planning (greenlight) to execution, to drive awareness of titles to our target audiences and ensuring our trade narrative is baked into the plans. It also oversees our UK and EMEA channel business. We are a team that’s passionate about what we do. The Opportunity & Responsibilities

  • This will set and deliver the strategy for Disney+ local originals both in the UK and have oversight of the EMEA markets.
  • A strategic comms mindset – you are able to look at the bigger picture to aid planning year on year, and strive to challenge the norm for our local original campaigns, always thinking of new ways to secure coverage in traditional and new media channels
  • Accountability for EMEA Original titles with stakeholders regionally and the global team to ensure our titles are able to launch
  • Senior lead for Disney’s Media Networks arm, that includes annual planning and supporting the PR Manager and Publicist who drive the campaigns forwards
  • Establish yourself as the international point person for EMEA local originals, taking a collaborative approach to planning with our EMEA integrated marketing team. This may include go-to-market comms planning, asset gathering and approvals management. This comes with managing multiple projects simultaneously while remaining highly focused and flexible whilst working under pressure.
  • In our team collaboration is key, you will be working with marketing and social, corporate communications, all US based teams in the US, independent production companies, agents and personal publicists to maximise opportunities and devise fully cohesive and innovative publicity campaigns.
  • This role also involves some internal comms including briefing notes for executive and contributing to townhall content
  • You will speak to a wide range of UK media, but namely TV and consumer press and lead by example to the wider team
  • You will provide leadership to one direct report who leads other professional staff with accountability for their performance
  • Potential travel required as business dependencies dictate and attend industry meetings as required.

The Experience We Require From You

  • Currently in a leadership position in a local originals publicity department and/or at a specialist PR agency preferably in TV and entertainment
  • You love entertainment, that’s your passion and you bring a clear understanding of what’s needed to secure brilliant outcomes for Disney+ as well as title specific awareness. With that, you have an established UK media network as well great third-party relationships.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the UK media landscape, knowledge of industry trends and the television landscape
  • You are confident overseeing campaigns end to end inclusive of talent relations and event executions
  • You think about evaluation at the start of your campaign or quarter, set clear KPIs that measure your work and take learnings onboard.
  • You are at your best when working with a range of stakeholders, globally - with demonstrable experience in a similar international role working in a large, matrix’ d organization to solve problems that are operationally challenging or, that impact markets
  • You have experience managing award campaigns and festivals as part of a local content campaign - or regional experience with local markets
  • You have extensive experience to provide the depth and breadth of expertise required to operate with gravitas at senior levels of the entertainment business
  • You must be a self-starter but a true team player with a genuine enthusiasm for communications and public relations as well as team development
  • You have experience handling senior stakeholders with a corporate team, and owning a crisis – big or small and have been involved in reactive planning or crisis handling
  • You have experience managing people and demonstrating their own growth and development as applicable
