IT professionals in the Water Services Department work closely with professionals in other technology environments, and in other City departments, offering opportunities for continued professional growth. The Water Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and high-performing individual to fill an Applications Technical Support (Information Technology Analyst/Programmer III) staff member position. The position is responsible for comprehensively understanding business requirements, development of code and/or configuration, testing, and deploying solutions.

Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to support a business application used to support customer experiences / interactions.
  • Ability to work with business users to translate requirements into technical design and solutions.
  • Ability to assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills will be utilized to support development and training.

Salary

Pay and Hiring Range: $74,797- $121,826 annually.

Pay Range Explanation:

  • Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
  • Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and or training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in applications analysis and programming, systems analysis and design; Including project leader responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, business administration, mathematics, or related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education, which meet the minimum requirements, may be substituted.

  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • At least three years of full-time experience supporting enterprise applications.
  • Experience with/in:
  • Business users to translate requirements into technical design and solutions.
  • Collaboration on peer reviews of development code and design decisions.
  • Designing, developing, coding, and testing of business applications using Java, Python, PL/SQL or T-SQL, or any web scripting languages.
  • Gathering requirements and designing technical specifications for code and/or configuration development.
  • Conducting system performance monitoring and system integrity checks of supported applications.
  • Writing data extraction routines, reports development, and business intelligence dashboards.
  • Supporting integrated systems by developing modern system-to-system integrations, testing of changes, and troubleshooting of issues.
