Marketing and Social Media Coordinator

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton (UUFBR) is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our team. This is a one year, part-time contract position with some on-site hours required at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Boca Raton.

UUFBR is a small congregation located in central Boca Raton, with liberal and progressive theology. Our mission is to provide intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth experiences for all ages and stages of life in a free liberal religious setting. Our membership is diverse theologically and includes agnostics, atheists, theists, religious humanists, spiritual but not religious, and more. Founded in 1961, UUFBR strives to meet the diverse needs in our religious community and beyond our walls through social justice and outreach efforts.

  • Work with the Membership Committee and Minister to determine strategies and tactics for reaching out to specific demographic groups (These might include college students and/or professors, people ages 30-50, ages 50-70, retirement communities, etc.) and then follow through on executing the outreach strategies and tactics agreed upon.
  • Working with the Membership Committee and UUFBR staff, ensure UUFBR’s web presence is inviting and up to date, including website content, main social media pages and Google listing. Increase UUFBR’s online presence through creating and posting materials directly on social media and encouraging members to post member-generated content.
  • Develop and execute social and digital strategies, manage social media platforms, and build and increase engagement with those who interact with our Fellowship through our digital channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with defining and implementing measurable strategies and campaigns to meet digital presence objectives. Report social data/metrics directly to the Minister on a weekly basis.
  • Manage and maintain the church’s social media platforms (primarily Facebook and Instagram) including ideation, scheduling, updating, and posting content on a consistent basis.
  • Update and/or help with a redesign of UUFBR’s website to improve online engagement.
  • Oversee community management and engagement on all platforms, including Google business pages. Consistently engage with the online community through responding to messages, comments, questions, and response management. Moderate user-generated content as necessary.
  • Continuously improve through analyzing social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements or expansion to other digital platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with the operation of multiple social media platforms, including the functions of community management, trend optimization, and growth strategies
  • Knowledge of both paid media implementation (or willingness to learn) and organic content generation
  • Knowledge of analytics tools, including Facebook and Google
  • Grammar, spelling, and verbal skills, as well as organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and share tasks, as well as prioritize simultaneous projects
  • Bachelor’s degree (Communications, Marketing, or Media majors preferred) or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

  • Basic photography skills
  • Photo or video editing experience (Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) and/or Canva
  • Livestream video experience (livestream switching or audio recording experience)
  • Wordpress experience
  • Familiarity and experience with congregational life

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
