What You Would Get To Do:

  • Represent the FIRST brand as a freelance technician for a well-known technology company.
  • Execute technical production for events requiring audio/video, staging, and lighting support.
  • Provide seamless technology experiences for attendees, press, partners, event staff, and vendors.
  • Work with internal teams, external clients, and vendor partners on a daily basis.

Your Overall Contributions:

  • Support event set up, rehearsal, and strike of Audio, Video, Camera, and Lighting equipment as needed, including system routing and troubleshooting.
  • Provide advanced support during live events, broadcasts, and recordings.
  • Operate event production equipment like Yamaha CL 3 or 5, ETC CS20-AV lighting console, Ross Carbonite, etc.
  • Provide full event production support including forwarding slide decks, video playback, live stream support, graphic support, multi-camera operation, etc.
  • Work well with others in a high-pressure environment.
  • Have an advanced understanding of audio and video signal flows.
  • Perform basic video editing to provide event recordings.
  • Provide white glove customer service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Work flexible hours, including early/late shifts and weekends.

Video Specific Contributions:

  • Operate video production switchers at an advanced level.
  • Manage video assets for live events, broadcasts, live streams, and recordings.
  • Key in lower thirds, graphic overlays, banners, logos, PIP’s, closed captioning, animations, green screen support, etc.
  • Utilize Ventuz or Watchout to manage content displayed on custom LED Walls.

Audio Specific Contributions:

  • Operate audio consoles at an advanced level.
  • Support in the role of “A2” mic’ing up presenters/monitoring frequency.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for audio consoles, audio signal flow, Dante network, etc.

Camera Specific Contributions:

  • Operate PTZ cameras at an advanced level.
  • Take high-quality shots during events and recordings utilizing PTZ camera controls.
  • White balance, calibrate, and shade all cameras for seamless high-quality images.

Lighting Specific Contributions:

  • Execute scene shifts and show cues during rehearsals and performances.
  • Create lighting scenes and cues as needed.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience within the technical event production/broadcast environment (3+ years preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work onsite.
  • Full understanding of audio-visual technology, including lighting, audio/video output.
  • Proficiency with LED walls and WATCHOUT preferred.
  • Experience working with specific equipment/tools (optional).
  • Proficient in the technical delivery of high-quality events.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of PTZ cameras and controllers.
  • Knowledge of livestream/broadcasting, especially streaming to the internet.

United States Residents:

The base hourly pay for this position ranges from $45 to $70.
