Location: Oak Ridge, United States

Contract: Contractor, Full Time

Basic Qualifications:

  • AS degree and 7+ years’ experience creating 3D models and drawings of complex mechanical, electrical, or small-bore piping systems.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 Plant Design and ISOGEN or equivalent software for generation of piping isometric drawings is a plus.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 Part/Assembly Design, DMU, Drafting, and Structures workbenches and ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is also preferred.

Deliverables:

  • Activities needed to support the project deliverables are defined by a resource loaded schedule.
  • These activities may evolve over time. The initial deliverables shall include:

CAD models and drawings of the Vacuum Systems and Roughing Pump System using CATIA V5 CAD software with ITER environment and settings:

  • Model and drawing preparation per US ITER processes
  • Checking models/drawings, including use of Q-Checker application
  • Drawing review and approval process
  • Prepare bills of materials and work estimates
  • Model/drawing configuration management and revisions
  • Supporting technical information and design communication as required:
  • Preparation and maintenance of 3DVIA model viewer files
  • Preparation of figures and illustrations derived from CAD data

Education and Certifications Required:

  • A.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or related technical field

Experience Level Desired (years):

  • Minimum of 10 years applicable experience with mechanical design/drafting support
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with small-bore piping design for equipment (water and compressed air)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience creating 3D models
  • Experience with CATIA V5 (2D & 3D)
  • Experience with ASME Y 14.5

Duration/Terms:

  • All augmented staff personnel will work a maximum of an 18-month assignment, regardless of hours worked during this period.
  • This assignment may be designated under multiple task orders with a total timeframe equaling 18-months (Note: to date, most task orders have been issued for 6-months at a time).
  • At the end of this 18-month assignment timeframe, the augmented staff personnel are required to take 6-months off (i.e., cool-off period, can’t work under this BOA).
  • At the end of this 6-month cool-off period, staff may potentially work an additional 18-month assignment, if requested and approved by ORNL management.
  • The maximum number of 18-month periods that can be worked by any augmented staff personnel are two, unless special authorization is granted by ORNL management.

Pay:

  • $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
