Maternity Cover for Communications and Marketing Coordinator (9 months)

Hours of work:

21-25 hours per week. This role can either be employed or as a freelance opportunity and we are flexible in terms of hours and days worked.

Salary:

circa ÂŁ27k pro rata

Job Purpose:

The post holder will be responsible for KHL’s engagement and storytelling across all our stakeholders for the period of 9 months to cover maternity leave. You will take over the lead role in the development and coordination of KHL’s marketing and promotional materials, organisation information, social media and web content/documentation ensuring that these meet Accessible Information Standards. In collaboration with Senior Managers, you will take a lead role in the development and coordination of effective internal and external communications, and public, service user and other stakeholders’ engagement to support the development of KHL.

Key Duties of the Post:

Communication

  • Support the development and implementation of KHL’s Communication and Engagement Strategy that provides a framework to successfully achieve the organisation’s strategic and operational priorities.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of KHL’s communication activities, ensuring effective communication with participants, staff, trustees, partners, and other audiences when required.
  • Manage the organisation’s website and project websites, ensuring that they are kept regularly updated with our news and activities.
  • Lead on both planning and producing content across our social media platforms – ensuring new platforms are engaged with appropriately.
  • Develop the showcasing of all our activities, ensuring promotional materials are accessible in a range of formats suitable for different audiences.
  • Produce case studies and impact reports on key projects.
  • Deliver community health engagement campaigns for KHL both through social media and via printed materials, as appropriate.
  • Design and creation of all marketing collateral for the organisation in line with brand guidelines.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of organisational and project brand guidelines.
  • Support the collation of qualitative data to showcase our impact.
  • Communicate news and updates to KHL’s participants.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans for projects as and when required.
  • In collaboration with colleagues, create and maintain an image bank for publication purposes and recording of consent.

Marketing

  • To raise the profile of KHL by enhancing its reputation, brand and image.
  • To identify, and attend where appropriate, opportunities to promote KHL and its activities through external media and events.
  • To identify opportunities to promote the work of KHL to new audiences.
  • To arrange and organise events to promote KHL’s activities.

Fundraising

  • In collaboration with senior managers, to take a lead role on the organisation’s individual giving fundraising campaigns.
  • To identify new opportunities for fundraising other than through grants and trusts.
  • To develop relationships with potential and existing individual donors to help secure funding for KHL projects.

Personal Development

  • Actively participate in supervision and training.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and partner meetings as required.
  • Undertake a range of mandatory and role-specific training to enhance your continued personal development.

Additional

  • Travel across Airedale and Wharfedale.
  • Promote the positive and professional ethos of KHL both internally and externally.
  • Continually strive to improve service quality and bring added value to projects.
  • Work as part of a team and develop positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Generate and share ideas to develop and improve projects and administrative systems.
  • Support and train volunteers and student placements.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required or appropriate to the post and grade.
  • To adhere to KHL’s policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Data Protection, Confidentiality, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Environmental policies in all aspects of the work.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Experience of working in a marketing environment
  • A health, health promotion or community work qualification
  • Excellent proven communication skills, particularly in a community engagement setting
  • An understanding of social factors that are a barrier to people living in good health
  • An understanding of community development approaches to health issues
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work alone and use own initiative
  • Knowledge of current public health priorities and strategies, both locally and nationally
  • Excellent IT Skills, including use of Microsoft packages

Desirable

  • A marketing qualification
  • Experience in using CANVA to create reports
  • Experience of working with diverse communities
  • Experience of delivering community engagement activities/events
  • Experience of collating project/activity evaluations
  • Experience of writing risk assessments for community-based activities

Salary:

Up to ÂŁ27,000.00 per year
