Job Description
ROAD is an educational outreach program that is celebrating 25 years and has touched over 11,000 lives. ROAD® has two 10-week sessions with 2nd grade students. At the end of the program, some students are chosen to receive partial to full scholarships to Nan Klinger Excellence in Dance.
Duties:
- Accompany rehearsals and performances for ROAD classes
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure seamless integration of music into the production
- Learn and perform a wide range of musical styles and genres as required by the production
- Attend semi-annual weekend training
- Assist in selecting appropriate musical pieces for the classes
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and punctuality
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in playing the piano with a strong understanding of music theory
- Ability to sight-read sheet music accurately and quickly
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to drive to local schools/organizations in Akron, Ohio
- Be positive, energetic, and upbeat
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple musical pieces and cues
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
