Responsibilities:

• Selecting appropriate musical repertoire for the choir based on the theme and purpose of each worship service or event.
• Providing musical instruction and guidance to choir members, including vocal techniques, harmonization, and interpretation of music.
• Conducting regular rehearsals to practice and refine the choir’s performance.
• Leading and directing the choir during worship services and other church events, ensuring synchronization and musical excellence.
• Collaborating with the Minister of Music, and other ministry leaders to coordinate music with the overall worship experience.
• Attending staff meetings and participating in discussions and planning related to music and worship.
• Staying updated with current trends and developments in sacred music, attending workshops or conferences as needed.
• Maintaining a positive and nurturing environment within the choir, encouraging spiritual growth and camaraderie among members.
• Assisting in the recruitment and development of new choir members.
• Ensuring compliance with the church’s policies and procedures.

Work Schedule:

The Men of St. Joseph Chorus Director position requires an average of 6 to 8 hours monthly. This includes planning music, conducting rehearsals, and leading the choir during worship services. The specific schedule will be determined in coordination with the church and can include weekday evening rehearsals and occasional weekend commitments.

Compensation:

Compensation for the Choir Director position is negotiable based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and the church’s budget. Details regarding compensation can be discussed during the interview process.
