Responsibilities

  • Attendance to practices as outlines and agreed upon by ActUp Theater Leadership
  • Attend all Tech Week Practices
  • Responsibilities for creating age appropriate makeup designs for our cast in our upcoming Production of Sister Act.
  • Collaborate well with other members of the ActUp team, including but not limited to the Costume Designer, and members of the executive Team
  • Ability to analyze conceptual details for a cohesive makeup design that aligns with the intended vision of the Sister Act Performance
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to execute creative makeup designs with cohesiveness to the overall vision of the production
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize a demanding schedule and a diverse portfolio of responsibilities
  • Ability to coordinate with the costume, lighting, and crews to optimize the best look for the actors
  • Ability to develop a schedule to provide makeup for an expansive cast
  • Excellent analytical, organization, problem solving, and communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with students, faculty members, parents, and administrators
  • Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills
  • Creating makeup design samples for cast, with provided makeup services on production days
  • Tough-up work for members of the cast when necessary
  • Promote the production at least two (2) times on social media

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 Years of Makeup Experience
  • Strong Portfolio of previous work
  • Strong research and interpretation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with and understanding of activities, programs, and productions of ActUp Theater
  • Familiarity with student-initiated arts activities and programs
  • Passion for the arts
  • Sensitivities to the needs and concern of participants from diverse backgrounds

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
