This is a mid-level position in our News Department that requires strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work in a fast-moving environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a leader in the field of journalism, and will be responsible for writing news stories, performing editorial duties and serving as an on-air reporter for our news programs. Responsibilities:

  • Read a significant amount of news articles every day.
  • Discuss current events in a concise and accurate manner.
  • Write for a variety of media.
  • Write news stories for broadcast or publication.
  • Write complex reports with minimal supervision.
  • Be aware of current events in the local community.
  • Understand the ins and outs of most local news stories.
  • Plan and execute coverage of stories or events, including any necessary research.
  • Follow and gather stories for a specific beat, such as agriculture or entertainment.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
