This is a mid-level position in our News Department that requires strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work in a fast-moving environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a leader in the field of journalism, and will be responsible for writing news stories, performing editorial duties and serving as an on-air reporter for our news programs. Responsibilities:
- Read a significant amount of news articles every day.
- Discuss current events in a concise and accurate manner.
- Write for a variety of media.
- Write news stories for broadcast or publication.
- Write complex reports with minimal supervision.
- Be aware of current events in the local community.
- Understand the ins and outs of most local news stories.
- Plan and execute coverage of stories or events, including any necessary research.
- Follow and gather stories for a specific beat, such as agriculture or entertainment.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
