Job Description:

My client, who are a prestigious market leader, are seeking a Marketing Assistant to work alongside their Head of Marketing and Marketing Officer, to assist in the delivery of a coordinated marketing strategy. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will help raise the company profile by underpinning all market-facing activity and supporting internal BD events and forums. The successful candidate must be proactive, looking for ways to work smarter, as well as adding value, forward thinking, show initiative, capable of juggling and prioritising multiple tasks when necessary, have excellent communication skills, be a real team player and have a flexible and professional approach, with a willingness to get involved with a wide variety of work.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supporting in general business development activity where necessary, for example preparing for and supporting events, pitches and meetings, etc.
  • Undertake desk-based research in identifying new lead opportunities and potential clients, carrying out background research.
  • Creation and design of invitations (including eshots) in accordance with brand guidelines managing delegate lists.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for seminar packs and any name badges, etc.
  • Co-ordinate speakers in preparing for seminars meeting and greeting clients when required.
  • Capture, analyse and report on delegate feedback.
  • General administrative and ad hoc tasks supporting BD activity.
  • Taking an active role to ensure that action plans are achieved and followed up.
  • Manage workloads and communicate effectively regarding capacity.

Person Specification

Knowledge and experience:

  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, and with a team orientated approach.
  • Good writing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to create and design marketing documents using Adobe InDesign would be preferable.
  • Good organizational skills and able to multi-task (especially urgent requests).
  • Preferably educated to degree level, ideally with a marketing or business-related degree (but experience and capability are of higher importance).
  • Experience working in events would be an advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (able to manipulate data, create charts, and design in-brand presentations).
  • Office administration skills.
  • Confident use of social media channels including LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Confident use of telephone and appropriate communication skills.
  • Previous experience within a law firm or other professional services firm would be an advantage.
  • When required, to work extra hours to meet marketing deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally, both written and verbal.
  • Adaptable and flexible – able to prioritize and change priorities quickly.
  • Proactive and creative with a desire to make an impact.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of the larger National team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
