Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

Contract: Contractor

Main Responsibilities:

  • Interaction Design:
  • Understand user interface patterns and behaviors
  • Design artifacts of high complexity
  • Use visualizations and interactions to support analytic thinking
  • Facilitate design critique
  • Act as an interaction design subject-matter expert
  • Visual Design:
  • Understand visual-spatial displays
  • Design high complexity visual artifacts
  • Create complex low-fidelity sketches, hi-fidelity mock-ups, and prototypes
  • Have primary team accountability for usage of the Design System
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Facilitate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities
  • Participation in Agile ceremonies and decision making

Future State of Success:

  • Design leadership of key product features and the overall product experience

Must-have Skills:

  • A degree or certification in Design or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or related/equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in both Interaction Design and Visual Design
  • Experience in integrating user research into product designs and design practices
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rational, and logic
  • Demonstrated expertise with design, prototyping, and collaboration tools such as Figma, Mural, and design systems

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • A BA/BS or MA/MS degree or certification in Design or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or related/equivalent
  • Experience with facilitating or supporting user research, with an understanding of various research methods and how/when they are applied
