Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our growing design team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Creative Director to bring the Velocity Black lifestyle to life through the Velocity Black app, social channels and our soon-to-launch digital magazine. The candidate will primarily be responsible for researching, selecting, and preparing visual assets. They will also collaborate with members from the internal content team to launch weekly email newsletters. They will also be expected to work across ad-hoc jobs such as internal presentations.

Responsibilities:

• Research and select high-quality visual assets to accompany content ideas for the VB mobile app, social media and Velocity Black Magazine.
• Prepare and edit visual assets to meet the company’s high standards using Figma.
• Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure visual assets reflect the company’s aesthetic and storytelling.
• Utilize WordPress to bring magazine articles to life with sourced imagery.
• Conduct additional image research where needed. Experience commissioning third-party photographers or illustrators a bonus but not required.
• Assist with tactical tasks such as creating presentations, newsletters, and other visual assets as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience with visual design, graphic design, or UI design
• At least 1 year of experience with design tools such as: Figma, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

• Keen eye for detail and visual storytelling.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience working with WordPress.
• Motion graphics experience.
• MailChimp experience is a bonus.
• Experience image editing bonus.
• Art Direction experience is a bonus.

In this role, the designer must be adaptable and possess excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with the team and deliver high-quality work in a timely manner. Overall, the designer will play a vital role in creating visually appealing and impactful design assets for various platforms.

Salary:

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $99,500 - $113,600 for Sr. Associate, Art Director

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
