Job Description

The Role

Non-fiction book publisher Harriman House is looking for a talented junior designer to join our small team. The role involves working closely with our Head of Production and Head of Design in the production of our books and related marketing materials.

• Co-ordination of the cover design process and internal layout design, working with our in-house designer and with freelancers
• Production of full book cover layouts
• Setting up of book cover files for print according to printer specifications
• Making proofing corrections to covers and internal files
• Creation of social media graphics
• Creation of ebooks from typeset book files
• Creation of marketing and promotional materials

The Candidate

The candidate will need to be highly proficient in InDesign and have experience of Photoshop and other design packages. They will need to have strong design skills, be dedicated, well organised and have great attention to detail.

Experience of working in publishing is not essential, but the candidate will ideally have worked in a design studio or print environment.
