Job Description

We are seeking a skilled UX Designer to join our consultancy for a 3-month contract on a high-profile government project. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping user-centered GDS experiences that adhere to government standards and guidelines. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a crucial public sector initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to define user requirements and design solutions aligned with government project objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive user research, interviews, and surveys to gather user feedback and insights, ensuring a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
• Develop clear and intuitive wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that effectively communicate interaction and design concepts.
• Experience with working on GDS projects and adhering to standards.
• Test and validate design ideas through user feedback, usability testing, and iterative design processes to enhance user satisfaction.
• Ensure that the user experience design complies with government standards, accessibility requirements, and best practices.
• Work collaboratively with UI designers, developers, and stakeholders to implement and refine user interfaces, ensuring seamless integration of design elements.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, design standards, and government guidelines to continuously enhance the user experience.

Qualifications And Skills

• Proven experience as a UX Designer, with a robust portfolio showcasing successful UX design projects, preferably within the government sector.
• In-depth knowledge of user-centered design principles, government standards, and accessibility guidelines.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD for creating wireframes and prototypes.
• Strong background in user research, usability testing, and translating user insights into design enhancements.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions based on user needs and business objectives.
• Familiarity with agile development processes and a collaborative mindset for working effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of government policies, digital service standards, and security protocols.
• Willingness to work on-site in London twice a week, with the flexibility to collaborate remotely when required.
