Position: Junior Web Developer

The Junior Web Developer is responsible for contributing to the building and maintenance of websites. They assist with translating visual and functional designs into custom themes, templates, and modules primarily using WordPress, Hubspot and Shopify platforms. They will learn to develop user interface and system modules in HTML, CSS(SASS), JavaScript/jQuery, PHP, and to implement layout and functionality updates and improvements to existing WordPress themes and templates.

Position Details

• Full-time position (part-time also considered)
• Location: Novato, CA office
• Hybrid schedule (at least 3 days per week in the office)

Responsibilities

• Translate visual designs into web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP
• Develop user interface and system modules
• Maintain and update WordPress and Shopify websites
• Assist with coding, testing, design adjustments, and client reviews
• Make layout and functionality improvements to existing website themes and templates
• Stay up-to-date with new tools and technologies
• Build HTML5 advertising banners and digital marketing assets
• Adhere to Section 508 ADA and W3C AA compliance
• Suggest new features, plugins, tools, and upgrades
• Attend daily standup team meetings and monthly ‘all-hands’ meetings
• Complete and submit weekly timesheets
• Continuously improve work quality and processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience with WordPress, PHP, HTML5, CSS/SASS, JavaScript
• Understanding of web development principles and passion for user experience (UX)
• Exposure to MySQL, jQuery, and Git
• Ability to learn new skills and processes quickly
• Interest in accessibility, UX design, web performance, and development best practices
• Proactive and tenacious work ethic
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Desire to collaborate and learn from team members
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and Google Presentations
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, or relevant experience
• Positive personality and enthusiasm for the work

Pay Range

$28.00/hr - $30.00/hr
