Job Description:

The Data Scientist will work in the Data and Statistics Division (DSD) of the Bank of England, specifically in the Regulatory Data Group (RDG). The role involves overseeing the collection and quality checking of regulatory data, as well as compiling and publishing aggregate data. The Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing data issues, developing solutions to improve processes, and implementing changes to data collections. They will also be involved in presenting data developments to stakeholders and mentoring less experienced team members. This role offers an opportunity to work in a high-profile and analytical area of the Bank.

Requirements:

• The minimum criteria for the role include demonstrable experience in improving data processes through automation, strong programming skills (R, Python, SQL) for data manipulation, effective communication skills, and high motivation and autonomy in work.
• Desirable criteria include a good understanding of economics, finance, and/or insurance, experience leading or mentoring a team, and building relationships with stakeholders. Knowledge of collaboration and DevOps tools is an advantage. Other Information:
