Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Seasonal Social Media Content Assistant to join our dynamic marketing team. If you are a creative and social media-savvy individual who is passionate about events and entertainment, we invite you to apply for this seasonal Social Media Content Assistant position and join our team at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

SUMMARY

Plays a crucial role in helping us promote and engage with our community before and during the annual Florida State Fair in February. This position reports to the Social Media Coordinator, is seasonal and part time, starting January 8, 2024 and ending February 23, 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Develop engaging and visually appealing social media content for our various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok.
  • Scheduling and Posting: Plan and schedule social media posts in advance to maintain a consistent online presence. Monitor and engage with our social media communities by responding to comments and messages.
  • Photography and Videography: Capture high-quality photos and videos during the fair, ensuring that the content reflects the excitement and energy of the Florida State Fair.
  • Live Coverage: Provide live coverage of events during the fair, including behind-the-scenes content, live streams, and real-time updates on social media platforms.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing team to develop social media strategies and campaigns that align with our brand and event goals.
  • Content Calendar: Assist in maintaining a content calendar, ensuring that content is scheduled appropriately and aligns with event schedules.
  • User-Generated Content: Encourage and curate user-generated content by engaging with attendees and encouraging them to share their experiences on social media using event-specific hashtags.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred). Prior experience in social media management or content creation is a plus. Proficiency in photography and videography, with knowledge of editing tools. Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours to cover the Florida State Fair.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong passion for social media and a keen understanding of popular platforms, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Creative thinker with the ability to brainstorm and execute fresh content ideas.
  • Access to personal transportation to travel to the Florida State Fairgrounds as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials as necessary.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable event environment.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Duties are performed partially in an office setting. Operates computer and standard office equipment, such as telephone and copier/printer. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and occasionally lift or move (more than 50 pounds). Environmental elements include some exposure to wetness or humidity.
