Job Description:

The Senior Web Developer will primarily work on the website redevelopment project as an embedded member of OST. Additionally, the position assists with the delivery and improvement of production services for the Intranet, Corporate site, and other public-facing websites and web applications across the department.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with front-end web development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with React, TailwindCSS, Storybook, and Git
• Experience in setting up and maintaining Webpack and Vite projects
• Experience in Bootstrap, SCSS, Gulp, EJS, REST APIs, and node.js would be well regarded
• Experience with responsive design principles
• Experience with website accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Level AA)
• Experience working within Agile Scrum teams
• Experience with Squiz Matrix CMS would be highly regarded
• Experience working on agile website/digital projects within the Victorian Government would be well regarded
• User experience/design skills would be well regarded
• Website testing experience would be well regarded

Additional Information:

Duties to be performed include:

• Creation of functional website components and/or templates from visual designs in Figma or other digital assets
• Implementation of website components and/or templates into DJSIR’s enterprise content management system, Squiz Matrix
• Peer reviewing the development work of colleagues
• Cross-browser and cross-device testing incorporated into development work
• Testing against Whole of Victorian Government web standards including WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards
• Writing technical build documentation
• Participation in Scrum activities including attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and sprint retrospections
• Keeping Scrum planning tools up to date
