Job Description

We are in search of a skilled and imaginative VR Game Developer to join our team on a contract basis, sponsored by the University of Portsmouth. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced team to bring to life a unique and emotionally compelling VR experience, combining cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the design team to implement a VR prototype that authentically portrays the experiences of a refugee, including multimedia integration with 360-degree video.
• Leverage Unreal Engine 5 and apply your expertise in C++ programming to develop and optimize VR interactions, environments, and multimedia elements.
• Integrate 360-degree video and audio, including poetry, to enhance the emotional impact of the VR experience.
• Contribute to the overall design and functionality of the VR application within project timelines.
• Debug and optimize code to ensure a seamless and immersive user experience.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in VR technology and contribute innovative ideas to the project.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Unreal Engine 5 and strong proficiency in C++ programming.
• Passion for storytelling within the context of virtual reality.
• Experience in multimedia integration, particularly with 360-degree video.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A portfolio or examples of previous projects demonstrating VR or game development experience.
