Job Description

The Media Production Specialist I will provide photographic images (still and video) as needed for the creation of materials promoting the University, its programs, and events. They will process and deliver images on deadline and according to specifications.

Job Duties

• Create digital photographs using standard professional photography practices.
• Capture appropriate images to illustrate marketing messages and enhance the image of the University.
• Process and edit images according to specific needs.
• Deliver images for inclusion in the University photo library and archiving system.
• Assist with digital asset management and organization.
• Attend meetings and complete other photography-related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of paid professional experience as a photographer/videographer.
• Minimum of six months of experience in still and motion picture photography.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in photography, graphic design, or digital imaging.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Working knowledge of production techniques for instructional media and communication assignments.
• Working knowledge of production equipment and editing methods.
• Ability to set up and operate production equipment.
• Basic computer skills for operating editing and duplication equipment.
• Basic photography skills, including film speed, light, and color requirements.
• Ability to perform photographic processing and use darkroom equipment.
• Knowledge of safety requirements for handling hazardous chemicals and materials.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff and students.

Special Conditions

• The candidate’s portfolio must include candid and portrait images with people as the subject matter.

Salary Range

The anticipated salary range is $19.26 - $23.11 per hour, depending on qualifications.
