Job Description:

Seeking Experienced Art Director to set looks and create designs for elevated screen sequences for feature film “Reality Games.”

The Art Director will:

• Concept, define design language, and create storyboards and designs for six sequences
• Represent characters using computers/social media as an abstracted, augmented-reality-like, and video game-style experience
• Work with the team to develop looks, create storyboards, and design assets for the internet sequences
• Extend the designs of the existing film and motifs already established in finished effects
• Create a detailed and aggressive plan and schedule to design and animate each sequence

Requirements:

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience art directing motion graphics and/or visual effects-heavy sequences for video games, commercials, or film/TV
• Has experience designing production-ready assets and handing them off to animators
• Is proficient in quickly exploring multiple visual concepts and translating narrative ideas into design language
• Can build a design arc that supports the story as it progresses
• Can quickly iterate multiple revisions based on director notes
• Can lead a team of designers and animators (preferred but not required)
• Is solution-oriented and a team player

About Us:

Reality Games is a hypervisual indie film that explores a post-truth world and the breakdown of truth. The film is currently in post-production and expected to be completed within three months.

Additional Information:

• The work involves concepting and designing the final look of sequences, not utilizing temporary graphics
• The second phase of the project will be part-time work from now until March 2024
• Phase I offers a $5,000 flat rate, while Phase II rate will be negotiated based on experience
