Job Description
Templeton and Partners are looking for a Senior Gaming Designer for our global client based in UK. The role is located in West London and is a hybrid contract (B2B, inside IR35).
Responsibilities:
- Game Design:
- Lead the conceptualization and design of innovative motion game mechanics and systems.
- Develop detailed design documentation, including gameplay mechanics, level designs, and progression systems.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with artists, programmers, and other designers to ensure the seamless integration of gameplay features.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Prototyping and Iteration:
- Create prototypes to test and iterate on gameplay mechanics.
- Analyze player feedback and data to refine and enhance the player experience.
- Content Creation:
- Design and implement game levels, missions, and challenges.
- Balance game economies, progression systems, and difficulty curves.
- User Experience:
- Ensure a smooth and enjoyable player experience through thoughtful interface and user experience design.
- Computer Vision (nice to have):
- A knowledge of gesture control, motion gameplay, and non-controller-based input & game mechanics.
Requirements
- Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in game design, with a focus on casual/mobile titles.
- Shipped at least two successful games as a lead or senior designer.
- Skills:
- Proficient in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.).
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and engagement strategies.
- Communication:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to articulate and defend design decisions.
- Passion:
- A genuine passion for gaming and a deep understanding of various game genres.
