Job Description:

As a Lead Technical Animator, you will be responsible for managing technical artists, collaborating with different departments to establish and optimize animation pipelines, creating animation tools for artists, resolving workflow roadblocks, integrating rigs in-game, managing animation databases, and communicating with design and engineering teams. You will also be involved in generating and setting up assets for the game’s animation systems using visual scripting.

Requirements:

• Solid experience working with animation game systems
• Experience in a leadership position managing technical artists
• Experience managing and updating animation pipeline tools
• Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills
• Degree in Computer Animation, Computer Science, or related experience
• Proficiency in a scripting language like Python, MEL script, or LUA
• Expert knowledge of Maya and MotionBuilder
• Experience building animation systems like Animation Blueprints, Mecanim, Morpheme, or comparable systems
• Ability to work independently in a team environment
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multiple locations
• At least one shipped AAA game

Nice to Have:

• Experience with version control software like Perforce
• Familiarity with asset/task tracking clients like JIRA and Shotgun
• Familiarity with Havok and/or FBX SDK
• Familiarity with widely used animation techniques
