Job Description:

We turn data into better healthcare. With our insights, we make healthcare more affordable, and better, and we improve the patient’s and clinicians’ experience. As a Data Engineer, you will take part in building and improving our data platform. This includes:

• Building products to exchange and process sensitive healthcare data, automatically and on a high frequency.
• Designing and developing enhancements and new features for our existing data exchange and distribution pipeline.
• Applying and setting software engineering best practices, such as version control, testing and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Acting as owner and specialist of critical data processing steps and/or product features from a data engineering perspective, ensuring smooth cooperation with other teams.
• Collaborating with product owners, architects, and other data engineers on related projects and supporting them with data-related technical issues.
• Proactively contributing to innovation and identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements.
• Coaching colleagues to help them improve their capability to continuously enhance the quality of their work (e.g. programming & process knowledge, cooperation with teams).

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience as a data engineer
• Proven track-record in programming and coding in Python and SQL
• Good understanding and experience in working with R and Bash/shell
• Good understanding and experience in working with Pentaho (ETL/ELT-orchestration tooling)
• Experience developing automated data engineering solutions in a cloud-computing context (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo) and understanding infrastructure and deployments
• Master’s degree preferably in a quantitative or information technology discipline or a similar field
• Fluency in Dutch; good understanding of English
• Experience working in an agile methodology (scrum or Kanban) and using Jira and GIT
• Experience with Bitbucket and Bitbucket pipelines

The data and analytics platform enables healthcare organizations to optimize patient care, drive operational efficiency, and make informed decisions based on data-driven insights. The position is a 6-month freelance project based in Amsterdam.
