Job Description

Who are you?

• You will be proficient in front-end languages and techniques, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Responsive Design, and Bootstrap
• You have a track record of designing and developing intuitive digital experiences based on industry best practices and you have a strong portfolio of work that reflects this
• You will have 3+ years designing and building consumer-facing digital products and experiences for mass-market audiences as well as enterprise-level projects
• You are curious by nature and not afraid to ask “why”. You don’t stop digging until you find out why your code worked (or didn’t work)
• You can confidently communicate design ideas using storyboarding, user flows, and wireframes
• You have experience designing detailed mock-ups for a variety of web platforms and devices
• You have development experience with different browser technologies and mobile environments
• You have the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies through training, self-advancement, and collaboration with peers
• You can engage in technical decisions around technical design, languages, and frameworks with ease
• You are excited to work closely with cross-functional product teams focused on evolving the client

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience working as a developer/UX designer using modern front-end languages and libraries
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Responsive Design proficiency
• Experience working with a Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress or SharePoint
• Project management/collaboration software: Slack /JIRA/Basecamp/Wrike
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, XD, Illustrator
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities
• Ability to perform tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Experience with web accessibility and an understanding of the WCAG 2.0/2.1 accessibility guidelines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
• Extensive knowledge of UX/UI design best practices and industry standards
• Experience providing design expertise and feedback to help evaluate projects from a brand standard + customer experience perspective
• Nice to haves: experience working in the utilities industry, SEO and analytics experience, and copywriting capabilities
