Job Description:

The CBS owned and operated duopoly in West Sacramento is seeking a freelance news photographer/editor for CBS 13 and independent 31. The ideal candidate will provide visual storytelling to reinforce talent’s storytelling. The candidate should have more than three years of experience in television news and must have a background in television news. The candidate should have a working knowledge of the XDCAM EX camera and GRASS VALLEY EDIUS editing systems. They should also be familiar with live trucks, bonded cellular packs, and be able to travel at a moment’s notice. The candidate must be a creative storyteller and a team player.

Requirements:

• 3 years of television experience covering breaking news, features, and sports.
• Sound journalistic judgment.
• Passion for visual storytelling.
• Excellent lighting skills.
• Deadline-oriented.
• Proficient in non-linear editing.
• Experience operating microwave, bonded cellular packs, and/or satellite trucks.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Occasional travel required.

Additional Information:

Hiring Salary Range: $26.30 - $30.54/hr, depending on experience.
