Job Description

This is an independent contractor contract for an on-site cinematographer role for JahPenée Productions located in Minneapolis, MN. The Cinematographer will be responsible for capturing and interpreting the director’s vision using camera and lighting techniques. The Cinematographer will also collaborate with the director, production designers, camera crew, and post-production team to ensure that the visual style and mood of the film accurately reflect the intended themes and narrative.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Cinematographer, with a portfolio or demo reel that showcases a range of lighting and unique stylized camera techniques
• Own equipment: C300, Blackmagic Cinema/Pocket Cam, Canon 5D w/lenses
• Experience in Documentary style filmmaking
• Experience working with corporate clients with tight turnover deadlines
• Experience in developing dynamic short form promotional videos for corporate clients that highlight their work, goals, and initiatives
• Excellent technical knowledge of cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and film processing equipment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other post-production software
• Ability to work collaboratively and creatively with a team of directors, producers, designers, and crew
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Cinematography, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Ability to work on tight deadlines and manage time effectively
