Job Description:

Design Excellence, an internal agency within the Devices group, is seeking a talented, creative, experienced Brand Designer to help us bring new brand experiences to life internally and externally—events, education programs, core brand experience, and web site. The Brand Designer will drive the application of our visual identity for large programs and initiatives across Design Excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of branding and corporate identity, and an ability to work independently and alongside other design team members, creatives, and business partners.

You should have deep knowledge and practical experience with brand guidelines, concept decks, strategic input briefs, and creative briefs at a top consumer-facing brand like. You should be comfortable engaging entry-level through executive stakeholders and working with many different types of creative professionals and creative outputs. Because the work is so varied, fast-paced, and high pressure, you should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.

You will partner closely with a variety of peers and stakeholders such as customer research, brand strategy, content strategy, copy, art direction, retail, go-to-market, event, and site development to achieve key strategic goals. You will develop high-level design concepts that tell a cohesive story across website detail pages, event trade dress, and core brand applications/brand guidelines. This role is for a highly capable designer who is comfortable supporting external creative resources and who has the composure and communication skill to effectively present to senior executives.

Requirements:

  • Designing brand design systems and branding guidance that can apply across multiple channels
  • A portfolio that demonstrates an incredibly high design and creative direction bar
  • Great communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and brings no ego to the team
  • Strong understanding of Brand Strategy

Nice to haves:

  • Telling brand stories in multiple channels, i.e., social, onsite, event, PR content, corporate promotional items, etc.
  • A mix of working in-house, in brand/design agencies, freelance or running their own business

Additional Information:

The role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence 2 days a week in Seattle, WA. It is a contract position for 9-12 months, with potential to convert to full-time employment after the duration. The work environment is fast-paced, and the candidate will need to effectively engage with stakeholders ranging from entry-level to executive. The ability to work under pressure and excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for this role. The candidate will be partnering with various teams and departments to achieve strategic goals.
