Job Description

The 3D Artist at the Miami Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) will analyze, design, write, test, and implement new programs and applications. They will also maintain and revise existing systems and provide technical assistance to end-users and others within Information Technology.

Job Functions

The 3D Artist will have the following responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the research team to develop 3D assets, environments, and characters using software such as Blender or Maya.
• Apply expertise in 3D rigging and animation techniques to create realistic and compelling animations for various projects.
• Work closely with researchers and developers to integrate 3D assets into Unity-based applications, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences.
• Assist in the creation of interactive and immersive experiences by leveraging knowledge of Unity, AR, and VR technologies.
• Ensure the visual quality, performance, and optimization of 3D assets across different platforms and devices.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

Experience/Requirements:

• 6 months - 1 year of relevant experience
• Proficient in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering using software such as Blender or Maya.
• Strong understanding of 3D rigging and animation techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
