Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading Investment Banking clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Java Back End Developer to join their team on a 12-month contract for an App modernisation program.
You will be responsible for:
- Analyzing requirements, working with the scrum master on understanding JIRA stories
- Implementing assigned stories
- Getting stories deployed to UAT at the end of the sprint and working with users to obtain UAT sign-off
- Working with the Release Management Team on Prod Implementation
- Providing Post Prod Support
- Participating in JIRA Backlog grooming activity

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Recent hands-on professional experience as a back-end software engineer in an agile, dynamic, and customer-facing environment
- Recent experience with using a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin, preferably Java 8)
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies
- Understanding of Data structures, Space / Time Complexity
- Experience in all the stages of software development lifecycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release, and support)
Desirable skills/experience include:
- Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Understanding of security frameworks/standards
- Understanding of data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.)
- Understanding of containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)

Work Type: Contract
Salary/Rate: £400 per day
