Job Description:

Kintek is a London-based tech company that specialises in consulting, support, supply, build, and people. We are seeking a Junior Front-end Web Developer to contribute to ongoing projects, including website design and development for various clients. This is an opportunity to learn valuable skills and work directly with the company Founder in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Requirements:

• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
• Current masters/undergraduate/part-time student able to come into the office 1.5-2 days a week
• Some experience or familiarity with static site development and the Remix framework
• Some experience or familiarity with code versioning tools like Git
• Experience in writing automated tests
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Skill in creating understandable GitHub issues
• Strong focus on user-centric software development

Front-end Development Skills:

• Design Implementation: Convert high fidelity designs into functional web pages with good UI/UX
• Browser Compatibility: Ensure websites are cross-browser compatible and adhere to web standards
• Performance: Optimize front-end performance through asset compression and caching
• Responsive Design: Ensure websites are fully responsive and optimized for various devices and screen sizes
• User Interaction: Implement friction-free and fun user-facing interactions

General Responsibilities:

• Testing: Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure site functionality and reliability
• Documentation: Maintain good documentation for codebase and system configurations
• Framework/Library Management: Update JavaScript frameworks and libraries to latest versions while ensuring compatibility

Additional Information:

• Salary: £13.95 per hour
• Location: FORA Montacute Yards, Central London
• Reporting to: Sandra Jasinska
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (around 1.5-2 days per week)

Recruitment Process:

• Initial video call with Manager (15 min)
• Second video call with Manager & Back-end Developer (40 min)
• In-person interview with Founder & Manager (1 hour)
