Job Description

As a Designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing product designs, producing detailed technical drawings, selecting materials and finishes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring design alignment with overall product strategy, and ensuring compliance with product safety and quality regulations. This is a full-time on-site role where collaboration is essential.

Requirements

• Strong design portfolio showcasing a range of products and design styles
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and CAD software
• Excellent sketching and hand rendering skills
• Experience with product design and development processes
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Organizational skills
• Experience in the apparel or outdoor industry is a bonus

• Reports to: Design Manager
• Location: Glasgow, office based
• Salary: Dependent on experience
• Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8.30am to 5.30pm)

What Does a Typical Day Sound Like?

• Liaising with international suppliers
• Understanding factory procedures
• Progressing orders from inquiry to bulk approval using a critical path
• Working closely with the design team/working as part of a team and individually
• Working with trends and awareness of products in the clothing/footwear industry
• Managing garment specifications and sample processes
• Using computer skills/knowledge and experience of using design software
• Handling technical and fit-related matters
