Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our General Merchandise - Seasonal team at Sainsbury’s. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and product development team for print, pattern, and product development. You will deliver inspirational designs that align with our category vision and meet the needs of our customers. As a manager and mentor, you will play a vital role in developing and supporting junior members of the team. You will also manage relationships with product development teams and suppliers to create original, exclusive products. Your role will involve working on the shop floor to understand customer needs and contribute to the success of our brands within the Sainsbury’s Group.

Requirements

• Highly experienced and talented professional in product design and development
• Proven track record in delivering creative and commercially successful designs
• Keen eye for key seasonal trends and ability to create innovative and commercial product ranges
• Managerial skills and ability to lead and develop a team
• Strong relationship building skills with product development teams and suppliers
• Expertise in brand management, technical knowledge, and understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to represent the team in front of key stakeholders
• Effective project management and ability to meet deadlines
• Passion for the Sainsbury’s brand and customer-centric mindset
