Job Description

We are looking for an experienced freelance videographer and video editor skilled in documentary and news formats. The role may transition to a full-time contract employee in the future. Candidates need previous experience in TV news or legal videography and must be comfortable shooting in hospitals and nursing homes. The ideal candidate can follow instructions, apply our shooting/editing style to projects, have strong visual talent, attention to detail, and organizational skills. The position requires working independently in our Chicago office or field, collaborating with team members to maintain brand consistency, and adhering to instructions from the VP/office manager.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in film/video, TV news/journalism, or equivalent
2. Minimum 3 years of work experience, preferably in TV/journalism
3. Ability to light and shoot visually interesting interviews with minimal setup time
4. Familiarity with various cameras and ability to learn new equipment quickly
5. Passion for videography, drive to create great work, and video reel showcasing experience
6. Proficiency in Adobe Premier and Photoshop; knowledge of After Effects is a plus
7. Ability to sign a non-compete agreement and pass a drug test
8. Provide references from former employers
