Job Description

We are looking for a data scientist on an 18-month fixed term contract to help Central Services take a more strategic approach to data and knowledge management. You will assist in generating new insights, making data-driven decisions, improving analytical efficiency, and fostering a data science community within the Bank.

Role Requirements

Minimum Criteria:

  • Experience in applying data science tools and techniques
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative working style and good communication skills
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on data

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of operational performance data and metrics
  • Enthusiasm for coaching and supporting business change
  • Knowledge of other programming languages (SQL, Spark, Visual Basic)
  • Experience in databases and machine learning techniques

Salary and Benefits Information

The role offers a base salary of circa £46,330 - £53,000 per annum, with flexible working arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package including pension, performance award, benefits allowance, annual leave, medical insurance, and income protection.

National Security Vetting Process

Employment in this role will undergo the National Security Vetting process and additional Bank security checks. The vetting process typically takes between 6 to 12 weeks post-offer, and further information on the requirements will be provided to the successful applicant.
