Job Description

The Jr. Applied Scientist role at Amazon is a unique opportunity for students pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related STEM discipline. This role involves working year-round, part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer, on exciting and impactful projects that directly impact Amazon customers. Jr. Applied Scientists will be paired 1:1 with an Amazon Applied Science Mentor to receive guidance and support in skill development, project collaboration, and more. Successful candidates may have the opportunity for full-time employment post-graduation at the Amazon corporate site in Seattle, WA.

Requirements

Key requirements for the Jr. Applied Scientist role include being currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Master’s or PhD program with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027. Candidates must be living within a commutable distance to Seattle, WA, and available to work in-person on a regular basis. Previous technical internships, effective communication of technical challenges and solutions, and the ability to work on ambiguous problems with abstract thinking are essential for this role.
