Job Description:

Software Development Engineer II needed to support the rollout of a new Search Front End platform. Responsibilities include collaborating with staff engineers to migrate user interface and business logic from an existing PHP application to a new NodeJS application. The candidate must have expertise in NodeJS, proficiency in PHP, knowledge of unit testing methodologies, and experience working on large enterprise codebases.

Requirements:

- 9+ years of Full Stack experience

- Expert knowledge of NodeJS, with experience in maintaining compatibility between versions and optimizing memory and runtime performance

- Some experience with PHP, necessary for reading and understanding existing codebase

- Knowledge of unit testing methodologies and frameworks, experience with Mocha preferred

- Proficiency with client-side UI technologies (JS, CSS, HTML) and browser compatibility

- Proficiency with git

- Ability to explain code as it is being written

Other Information:

- Rate: $70-$75/hr on W2 with no benefits

- Candidates need experience using ChatGPT during coding and must focus on speed to avoid syntactical mistakes

- Ability to rewrite PHP code logic in NodeJS is crucial for the project

- Candidates with only client-side skills will not be successful in this role

- Bonus points for experience with modern React, familiarity with Kubernetes, and TailwindCSS
