Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mid-tier Java Developer to join our team on a part-time basis (15-20 hours per week). The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java development, particularly in areas such as Java Message Service (JMS), Java Platform Enterprise Edition (Java EE), and Java Database Connectivity (JDBC). Experience with Weblogic platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and familiarity with WLST scripts, Python, and Ant Scripts, is highly desirable. Additionally, proficiency in operating systems such as Linux and Windows is required. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely and largely set your own schedule providing flexibility and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java applications utilizing best practices.
• Implement Java Message Service (JMS) solutions for efficient message exchange between applications.
• Utilize Java Platform Enterprise Edition (Java EE) to build scalable and robust enterprise applications.
• Integrate databases using Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) for seamless data access and manipulation.
• Configure and troubleshoot Weblogic platforms to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
• Write and maintain WLST scripts, Python scripts, and Ant scripts for automated tasks and deployments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers as needed.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continually enhance skills and knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and protocols, particularly with regards to Secret Clearance requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Java Developer, with a focus on mid-tier development.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks/libraries.
• Experience with Java Message Service (JMS), Java Platform Enterprise Edition (Java EE), and Java Database Connectivity (JDBC).
• In-depth knowledge of Weblogic platforms, including configuration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with WLST scripts, Python, and Ant Scripts for automation.
• Proficiency in operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Must possess at least a Secret Clearance.

Nice to Have

• Experience with other Java-related technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Programmer).
• Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
