Job Description

The editorial team at Forbes drives the look and feel of the brand, creatively leading a range of work from daily feature stories to large scale lists like 30 Under 30 and the Billionaires List. The team collaborates with various departments to tell holistic stories and add value to the audience’s lives. The ideal candidate is a quick learner and conceptual thinker passionate about journalism, design, illustration, and emerging AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Creating graphic designs, illustrations, and photo collages for daily feature stories.
• Utilizing and learning new generative AI tools.
• Ensuring a consistent visual style across all platforms aligned with Forbes’ Brand Guidelines.
• Collaborating with different teams to determine storytelling approaches across digital platforms.
• Owning all aspects of creative production for assigned stories, including contributing creative ideas, creating header artwork, managing story flow, designing charts and infographics, and creating promotional assets for social media and forbes.com.

Requirements

• BA/BFA in design or illustration with 1-4 years of digital design experience, preferably in media or editorial publishing.
• Strong conceptual thinking, digital design, composition, and typography skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Zeplin, and Sketch. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects preferred.
• Comfortable with generative AI tools like ChatGPT, GettyAI, and Adobe Firefly, with the ability to adapt to new tools.
• Stay current on design trends and technology, sharing knowledge with the team.
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a portfolio showcasing storytelling, design passion, and platform-relevant content.

Additional Information

• Hourly rate for this role: $34.00
• Applications without an online portfolio will not be considered. Design test required for final candidates.
• Forbes offers employees flexibility with a hybrid work schedule. Some roles may be fully remote within the U.S.
