Job Description

Our client in Burnaby is seeking a Part-time Senior Java Developer for a 3-month contract opportunity. The role involves working on a J2EE based multi-tier web application integration project. The successful candidate will implement changes based on business requirements, following the client’s development methodology.

Responsibilities:

• Implement changes to an existing J2EE application and integrate with other systems.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Assist QA in resolving testing issues.
• Provide knowledge transfer to development and QA teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Java EE development experience.
• 10+ years of SQL development experience.
• 10+ years of XML experience.
• 5+ years of creating cross-browser and cross-platform web applications using JSP, Javascript, and CSS.
• 3+ years of Eclipse development experience.
• 3+ years working with Oracle databases and Weblogic.

Preference given to candidates with experience in Javascript/JQuery/AJAX, integrating with other systems using REST API or other 3rd party webservices, performance optimization, and working under pressure. Ability to quickly comprehend technical and business concepts is essential.
