Job Description

This is a book cover focused, mid-weight design position within the art team at HQM&B. The designer will be responsible for creating fiction and nonfiction cover designs, marketing materials, and managing design admin tasks. They will need to adapt to various genres and design innovative and fresh covers that are market-leading. Other responsibilities include supporting the design team, overseeing freelance designers, and designing marketing materials.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of book cover design, experience with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and a Design Degree/course/some experience. They should have proven experience in designing covers across various genres, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A love of design and books, excellent organizational skills, and being a team player are essential. After Effects experience would be beneficial.
